July 6, 2007- “The 5 star hotel” and Amsterdam
Now on Ju
ly 6th is when I wrote my July 4, and 5 diary entries. Woke up at 8, went down for breakfast. Now dad had to go to work and I’m here in the hotel doing this. House cleaning is here vacuuming the floor as I type. In the morning I realized that one of the shoes I bought had 2 right shoes and no left. I fell asleep and had a very interesting dream. I do not want to recall it; I want to forget it. If you, Olivia, don’t remember it: It’s okay. Dad came back around 5:15 from work. Went to the train station by bus. The train ride was about 45 min to Amsterdam. We first went to a river/canal cruise, IT WAS VERY BORING! Very…oh em gee. It said
it would show the highlights of Amsterdam along the water. Nothing much. Only the cool pirate ship, skinniest house in Amsterdam, (picture at the right) and cool boat houses. Then we went into a Japanese restaurant because it was dad’s favorite restaurant in Netherlands. The menu was a picture menu; it was cute. But one sushi w/ fish was 2.5 euros! Dad had sashimi and I has udon
noodles, and we also ordered 8 salmon + egg sushi. When the people next to us started smoking (they used the flame from their “hot plate” [kind of like hot pot] to ignite their “horrible smelling flame sticks” [cigarettes], I couldn’t take it anymore, so we left. Then dad brought me into the Red Light District. Pretty scary, yet sad, and skanky. All these sex machines. Haha. This blond girl actually came out and yelled to a boy that like looked at her and started walking. She was like “I’ve been sitting here for 2 days now. Come, come on.” Wow I hope he said no. Yucky. There were like sex dvd, sex shows, and crap like
that. Pretty stupid. Oh yeah! We also saw a guy so drunk outside a bar, he was lying outside in the rain and his family or friends were like trying to wake him up. Pretty funny. Then it started raining, so we couldn’t go look around. We headed back to the train station. We accidentally sat in the first class section, instead of 2nd class. The first class seats were so much softer & comfier! Took the tram home, almost missed our stop. Now we are watching TV and it is only 11:30. Dad’s snore was so loud, my ipod, tv, or throwing the pillow on his face didn’t “shut him up.” I slept at 3.
