Day 7

July 9, 2007- Den Haggs

Dad went to his office, so I stayed in the hotel. Didn’t go on youtube. I made a blog. www.oliviaanddaddwan.blogspot.com. It was all in Dutch so I had to use freetranslation.com and babel fish. Mr. Jackson knocked on our hotel door and I found out that The Jacksons are right next door to us. Mr. Jackson asked me to go for a walk with us and Scott. I wore flip-flops because I thought it was going to be a simple walk in the park, but no, not really. We walked about 3 miles or so. My feet were killing me. Then I went back on the internet when we got back home. Then dad came home. We went to go eat. We went back to the coast of the North Sea. I wore flip flops and short-shorts once again because I thought we would walk on the sand. We didn’t, because Mrs. Susan and them probably didn’t want to. =( *tear tear* I wanted to go so bad, the weather was sunnier and less wind than last time we came. It was a perfect time to jump in! Oh well. We walked to the harbor, which was forever! Then we walked along the deck and the harbor for a long time because Dad wanted to bring us to one of his favorite restaurant. But when we got there, IT WAS CLOSED! So we had to walk all the way back. Our feet hurt so bad. Then we stumbled across one restaurant called Cap Ouest or something like that. My dad sweet talked them to let us have a table (we didn’t have a reservation) dad said, "I heard your restaurant is very good and my friends recommended this restaurant to us." BS. Hahaha. But because of him, we got in. So props, soprs to him. It was one of those true, European, no-food-on-a-big-plate, expensive food. We had like 4 plates or appetizers, a halibut & shrimp for my main meal, and a crème brulee for my dessert. LOOK AT PICTURES FOR WHAT WE ATE. I had "lemonade", which was really Fanta Soda. There must have been an army of dishwashers because every time a new dish came, we received new utensils. (We had about 7 dishes each). The full set of utensils (fork, spoon, and a knife). It was crazy how many utensils we got. I went to the bathroom and IT WAS THE COOLEST THING IN THE WORLD! After I went to the restroom and I stood up, the toilet rotated and there was a little brush that cleaned the seat. Hygiene. The meal was pretty expensive, but it was good. The whole dinner was about 290 euros and 3 hours or maybe 4! My legs and feet were so cold! Dad kind of got us lost. Then we found our way home. Then we slept. The highlight of the day was the dinner.
