Day 8

July 10, 2007- Amsterdam and Den Haggs

Dad and Mr. Jackson had to work today, so I hung out with Mrs. Jackson and Scott. Dad woke me up at 7 in the morning because he forgot his key. I couldn’t go back to sleep, so thanks dad. I met up with Mrs. Jackson and Scott for breakfast. We left to Amsterdam at 10:02. I slept on the train. We got there and it was thunder storming and raining like crazy. So we went into a store like a mini CVS, and it stopped raining when we got out. We headed to the Van Gogh Museum and it was really cool. My favorite painting was the one he painted. It was a harvest field in the winter. I like paintings with snow in them. I’m weird. After the van Gogh Museum, we were hungry and ate at this cafe, I had onion soup, but it wasn’t as good as mom’s. =). Then we went to the Rijastark Museum or something else, I have no idea what it was called. It was okay, all this Dutch history. Where was a painting where someone stabbed it and it looked okay. Meh, I wasn’t too interested in the museum. The good part was that I got in for free. I really wanted to go into Madame Tusseudo or whatever. Then Mrs. Jackson and Scott never want to go anywhere I want to go. (the wax museum, the beach, and the "smaller" Netherlands museum) Oh well. We walked into the park. The entrance kind of sucked because hey were constructing it. Then when we got further into it, it was gorgeous!! We saw a drunk man talking to the lake. It was pretty funny. Headed to the train station and I slept again. We got on the right tram number, but it was in he wrong direction! Oh man. That was pitiful. We got back and we headed to dinner. We ate at the Church Restaurant called Zebedeus (where dad and I ate last time). The waitress was really cool. I had pasta, and green tea with jasmine flowers. For dessert I had a scoop of Vanilla Bean ice cream. My nose hurt with a passion and it was stuffy, so we asked the waitress if there was a pharmacy around, but she said most of them were closed except the hospital. She asked her colleague to go on the Internet to find one. He couldn’t, but it was nice of him to do it. I thanked her and him or putting in the effort to help me. She even looked on every page of a newspaper for an ad. When dad wanted me to go get the check, her and I had a cool conversation about the states and education (because she was a foreign exchange student in Oklahoma). We headed back to our hotel and I was pretty tired. I felt really sick. Went to sleep with MTV and South Park on. Woke up at 3 to find the TV still on with a Dutch music video playing. For some odd reason (I forgot to say earlier) we can’t turn on/off and change channels and volume with the buttons on the TV, so we had to use the remote, BUT I COULDN’T FIND IT! I wanted to go back to sleep, but the TV was on like full blast volume. So I looked around for 10 min. for the remote, then I found it on the floor in the crack of our two beds.
